Summer Associate Program - New York Office

Over a 10 week period, Summer Associates have the chance to make real contributions to our business results. Candidates become integral members of the team and support all of our major lines of business – Investments, Asset Management, Product Sourcing and Equity Capital Markets. The objective is to develop well-rounded technical and analytical skills, as well as work alongside a team of professionals that add value to our organization and make it possible for our firm to capitalize on new opportunities.

Qualifications for our Summer Associate Program include:

  • Current MBA candidate with strong academic credentials from a top business school program.
  • 4-6 years of experience working for a prominent investment bank, private equity, real estate or financial services firm.
  • Strong financial/business analysis, industry research, modeling and presentation skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel and Argus skills.
  • Proven track record of leadership
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.

Madison visits a select group of campuses to conduct interviews with graduate students for our Summer Associate Program. Please check with your institution’s career services office to see if we visit. If so, ask about our planned dates for resume submission and first-round interviews.

Analyst Program - New York Office

During our two-year program, analysts gain experience in two to three key areas of the business which may include investments, asset management and equity capital markets. Candidates have the opportunity to move across functions over time. High-performing analysts can advance into a third year followed by a possible promotion to an Associate role as they build their careers at Madison.

Qualifications for our Analyst Program include:

  • Strong academic credentials from a top undergraduate business program, preferably with a major in finance, economics or a related field.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills. Familiarity and experience with Argus, research, databases and other computer applications.
  • Strong interest in real estate, finance and investment management, as demonstrated through internships, work experience, classroom work or personal investments.
  • Willingness to work long hours and travel domestically and internationally as needed to support the firm’s investment and sourcing activities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.

Analyst/Associate, Investments - New York Office

Madison International Realty, LLC, a specialty real estate private equity firm, seeks to hire an Investments Analyst/Associate in our New York headquarters office to prepare and lead a variety of financial analyses and modeling in support of the firm’s due diligence of investment opportunities across Europe and/or the U.S.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and lead a variety of financial analyses, in support of the firm’s due diligence of investment opportunities
  • Responsible for cash flow modeling and valuation of assets, properties, and portfolios
  • Review financial and legal agreements and other documents associated with potential investments to understand and quantify the economic impacts on valuation and projected investment returns, and research other legal issues to assist in the due diligence for potential acquisitions
  • Communicate with internal and external audiences around an array of subjects related to Madison’s transactions
  • Prepare investment committee memoranda and present investment committee presentations
  • Offer insight and ideas regarding potential investments, creative transaction structures and deal terms that help lead to successful transactions
  • Develop and maintain understanding of developments and trends in the economy and real estate industry and incorporate the most up-to-date information into analyses.  Attend select seminars and conferences related to real estate

 

Skills/Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced financial professional with:
  • Fluency in reading, writing and speaking German
  • 2-4 years of experience in real estate underwriting, with strong focus on property level diligence, underwriting, and modeling / valuation
  • MBA in real estate, finance or related field is plus but not required
  • Exceptional quantitative underwriting, modeling, MS Excel, and Argus skills required (VBA skills a plus)
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and writing communication skills
  • Ability to work within a team environment and interface with institutional clients and counterparties
  • Willingness and ability to travel
