MICHAEL CHEN

Mr. Chen serves as Managing Director-Head of Capital Markets and Investor Relations, with primary responsibility for developing and executing Madison’s fundraising strategy and serving as liaison with the investor community. He has over 15 years of experience in real estate finance and maintains an extensive network of global investors. During his tenure at Madison, Mr. Chen has been responsible for over $5 billion of equity raised for Madison’s sponsored vehicles. Prior to joining Madison in 2014, Mr. Chen spent four years at Paramount Group, Inc., a vertically integrated, class A office owner/operator focused on New York City, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. As co-head of the Capital Markets department, Mr. Chen was responsible for developing and executing Paramount’s global fundraising strategy. Prior to that, Mr. Chen was an Executive Director in J.P. Morgan’s Real Estate and Lodging Investments Banking Group and worked in both the New York and London offices from 2003 to 2010. He also held various financial positions with Marriott International and Crestline Capital prior to 2003. In addition to being an active member of various global private real estate organizations including the Association for International Real Estate Investors (AFIRE), Pension Real Estate Association (PREA), European Association for Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate Vehicles (INREV), Asian Association for Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate Vehicles (ANREV) and Institutional Real Estate, Inc. (IREI), Mr. Chen is a current Editorial Board Member of IREI Americas, a former due diligence committee member of INREV and a member of the International Affinity Group of PREA. Mr. Chen graduated with a BA from University of Michigan and received an MBA from the University of North Carolina.
